JOIN US TO CELEBRATE AS WE WELCOME NEW CITIZENS AND ANNOUNCE THE RECIPIENTS OF THE 2025 COMMUNITY CITIZEN OF THE YEAR AWARDS
The Town of Cottesloe invites our community to join us to celebrate on Sunday, 26 January 2025.
This special day will see us come together to welcome new citizens and recognise outstanding community members as we present the Town’s Community Citizen of the Year Awards.
The event will begin with a Welcome to Country by Robyn Collard, a Whadjuk Ballardong Yorga Elder, who will be accompanied by didgeridoo playing.
A Citizenship Ceremony will take place, and the recipients of the Town’s Community Citizen Awards will be announced and presented with their awards.
The Town will also welcome Australia Day Ambassador Paul Litheran, a cyber safety educator and campaigner, and the 2022 Australian of the Year.
Following official proceedings guests will enjoy a complimentary indigenous themed morning tea and a sausage sizzle.
Town of Cottesloe Mayor Lorraine Young said, “We look forward to welcoming new citizens and recognising outstanding community members at our Summer Citizenship Ceremony and Awards Event, and we hope to see many members of our community come along and share the morning with us.
“On behalf of the Town, I would like to thank the Australian Government for their assistance with this event through a National Australia Day Council grant.”
The Town of Cottesloe Summer Citizenship Ceremony and Awards Event will be held on Australia Day, Sunday, 26 January in the War Memorial Hall at Cottesloe Civic Centre, commencing at 10am. All members of our community are invited to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!
