Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe not coming in 2025 due to funding issues

The Town of Cottesloe has been notified that the Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe exhibition wont be coming to us next year, due to funding issues.

The event has come to Cottesloe beach every year for the past 20 years and it is incredibly sad that it won’t be coming here for its 21st birthday in March next year.

Every year for the past 20 years the Cottesloe community has welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors to Cottesloe to visit the event. The vast majority come from throughout Perth, the regions, from interstate and from overseas.

The event is free to all and it allows people from far and wide to interact with amazing sculpture in a beautiful natural gallery space formed by Cottesloe beach.

The Town committed to a long-term funding arrangement some years ago and also provides a lot of in-kind support for the exhibition. Our community loves to host it. It’s terribly sad that a lack of funding from elsewhere prevents the show going ahead this coming year.

Given the importance of the beach culture to Australian tourism and the reach this event has, we would hope that funding issues will be sorted out, so that this will be a brief break and that we can have a belated 21st birthday celebration early in 2026.
