The Town is currently trialling Containers for Change baskets on a number of bins on the foreshore in north Cottesloe.

Container Exchange Points attached to rubbish bins provide an opportunity for beachgoers to drop their empty 10c containers in the basket, saving them from going to landfill.

The empty 10c containers can then be collected from the basket and returned to a local refund point by anyone who would like to claim the refund!

There are five baskets in north Cottesloe and if the trial is successful, additional baskets will be installed along the foreshore.

Keep an eye out for them and if you're a collector, feel free to pick up the containers and give them another life (as well as getting a refund!).
