WHEN CAN I SETUP AND PACK DOWN?
The time that you book must include time for the setup and pack down of your event.
CAN I MAKE A TENTATIVE BOOKING?
Tentative bookings can not be made. Bookings are only secured on full payment. This includes the bond and hire fee.
CAN I MAKE A BOOKING OVER 12 MONTHS IN ADVANCE?
The Town of Cottesloe cannot take any wedding booking more than 12 months ahead. Any applications submitted for a date later than 12 months ahead will not be processed.
AM I ALLOWED TO HAVE CANDLES?
Our Civic Centre is listed as a Heritage site. As such, no naked flames of any kind are permitted on the Civic Centre grounds, whether exposed or concealed, including lanterns or jars. Violation will result in the loss of your bond.
AM I ALLOWED TO HAVE BALLOONS OR CONFETTI?
To support the Town of Cottesloe's sustainability efforts and to prevent balloon and other waste from entering waterways, it is our policy that no balloons (helium, latex, vinyl, mylar, etc.) or any type of confetti (glitter, biodegradable, flower petals, rice, paper, etc.) are allowed at the Civic Centre grounds including Lesser Hall and War Memorial Hall. Violation will result in the loss of your bond.
HOW DO I MAKE A BOOKING?
All bookings require a completed application form which must be submitted to town@cottesloe.wa.gov.au. Applications sent directly to a staff member will not be accepted.
DOES TOWN OF COTTESLOE HAVE SUGGESTED/APPROVED SUPPLIERS?
The Town of Cottesloe is unable to recommend any suppliers, however we suggest that you refer to socials for a list of suppliers that will fit with your plans.
IS THERE A BACK UP SPACE IN THE CASE OF BAD WEATHER?
Our War Memorial Hall can be hired as a wet/hot-weather back up, with the condition of three hours outdoor venue hire, if appropriate. Please see the Civic Centre Location page for terms and pricing information.
WHAT ITEMS ARE PROHIBITED AT CIVIC CENTRE AND BEACH VENUES?
All forms of confetti, including rose petals, candles, poppers, smoke machines, sparklers and portable BBQs are prohibited from being brought to all venues being managed by the Town of Cottesloe. No naked flames of any type are permitted at our venues. Candles without a flame such as battery-operated and electric candles are, however, permitted.
IS THERE A KITCHEN ON-SITE?
The Lesser Hall is the only kitchen at our venues, to be used in line with our terms and conditions. Clients may have to arrange mobile kitchen arrangements if not hiring Lesser Hall facilities - in this case, please confirm these details with the events coordinator before hiring these services as powerpoint access may be needed.
DO YOU PROVIDE SIGNAGE TO SUPPORT OUR BOOKING?
As the Civic Centre has multiple venues and is a public venue, we suggest that you provide the signage for your event to ensure that your guests are in the right place.
AM I ALLOWED TO ERECT A MARQUEE OR UMBRELLAS?
Marquees and umbrellas are allowed in line with our terms and conditions. Umbrellas cannot be pegged into the ground but they can be weighted.
CAN WE DECORATE THE LESSER HALL, WAR MEMORIAL HALL, ROTUNDA OR TREES?
No adhesive materials can be used and decorations can't be tacked or taped onto the Town's property or trees.
DOES THE TOWN OFFER WEDDING PACKAGES?
No, the Town of Cottesloe only offers basic venue hire services as per our terms and conditions - everything outside of basic venue hire including catering, furniture and flower arrangements must be organised by hirers themselves.
DOES THE TOWN OF COTTESLOE OFFER THE SERVICES OF A WEDDING COORDINATOR?
No, the Town of Cottesloe only offers basic venue hire services as per our terms and conditions. Hirers are welcome to hire external wedding coordinator services if needed.

Wedding applicants are invited to view their preferred venue in person to ensure that the venue is suited to their plans. If visiting, please call the Town of Cottesloe before visiting to avoid disrupting a pre-booked event.

Application Review and Client Call Back
After reviewing your wedding application, one of our friendly events staff will call you on your provided phone number to discuss details of your wedding and may take payment over the phone at this stage. If unavailable, our team will try to leave a message on your phone instead.
Full Payment of Wedding Event Charges and Bond Payable
Staff will take payment details over the phone and secure the booking after full payment has been made. A confirmation letter will then be sent through to a supplied email.
One Month Pre-Event Check-In
Approximately one month before your event, staff will contact you regarding eligible paperwork. Documentation required may include permissions and confirmation around alcohol, details of vehicles accessing the venue, additional bin hire, use of marquee stakes and other documentation relating to your wedding set up. The events officer will also discuss regarding any relevant information such as key pick up and drop off and logistics on the day.
Two Weeks Before Event - Submission of All Event-Related Documentation
Two weeks before your wedding event date, all permission forms requested by events staff previously must be fully completed and submitted to town@cottesloe.wa.gov.au, except for the bond refund form which must be submitted after the event has taken place.

Wedding takes place.
Submission of Bond Refund Form
Once the event has been held, you may send through you bond refund form. Your bond will be refunded after an inspection is made of the venue to view any damage and once it has been confirmed that no damage has been incurred. Bond refund forms should be sent through to town@cottesloe.wa.gov.au.
