The Town of Cottesloe is a vibrant and progressive local government organisation, known for its beautiful coastal location and strong sense of community. We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Manager of Community and Customer Services to lead key service areas, including customer service, records, community development, and events. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while contributing to the ongoing growth and success of the Town of Cottesloe.

This is a permanent full-time position based at the Cottesloe Civic Centre, working 76 hours per fortnight.

About the Opportunity 

Reporting to the Director of Corporate and Community Services, the Manager of Community and Customer Services (MCCS) will play a key role in driving service excellence, mentoring teams, and being a pivotal player in the Town's upcoming digital transformation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the Records, Customer Service, Events, and Community Development teams.
  • Overseeing essential reporting and service delivery.
  • Acting as the Principal Freedom of Information Officer (FOI).
  • Motivating teams to achieve the Town’s goals.
  • Providing accurate reports and recommendations to the Council and other forums.

About you

The following selection criteria is essential for the role:

  • Tertiary qualification in Management, Business, Commerce, or relevant experience.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication, technology, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and problem-solving.
  • Experience in local government or related sectors.
  • Working knowledge of the Local Government Act 1995 and State Records Act 2000.
  • Understanding of community issues and sound appreciation of the role of community organisations.
  • Experience with integrated information technology systems.
