Container Deposit Scheme
The State Government has committed to implementing a Container Deposit Scheme in Western Australia by early 2019.
The objectives of the scheme are:
- Reducing litter
- Protecting the environment
- Community participation
The Container Deposit Scheme will allow consumers to take empty beverage containers to a refund point for a refund of ten cents (10c) on eligible containers.
A short online survey has been developed to gather feedback on key issues of the Container Deposit Scheme. The Town encourages you to take part in the survey to assist the State Government in implementing this very important scheme.
The survey is available here from www.dwer.wa.gov.au/cds. Please note that the survey closes on 23 October 2017.
